Eligibility and registration
You must have an account and be at least 13 years old to bid. By placing a bid, you confirm you have the authority and the means to pay if you win. We may decline or cancel bids and may require verification before or after a sale.
Bids are binding
Every bid is a binding offer to buy at that price. You cannot retract a bid once placed. If you are the high bidder when an auction closes, you have won and are obligated to complete the purchase.
Maximum (proxy) bids
You may set a maximum bid. The system will automatically bid on your behalf up to your maximum, using the standard bid increment, only as much as needed to keep you in the lead. Your maximum is confidential. Setting a maximum does not guarantee you’ll win.
Closing and extensions (soft close)
Auctions close at their scheduled end time. To keep bidding fair, a bid placed in the final minutes may extend the closing time for that lot by a short period, so others have a chance to respond. Some events close their lots in a staggered sequence.
Reserves and estimates
Some lots have a reserve (a minimum price that must be met to sell) or a published estimate range. Estimates are opinions of likely value, not promises of price or appraisals.
Winning bidder obligations
- Pay the winning amount, plus any applicable taxes, fees, and shipping, by the method and deadline on your invoice.
- Arrange pickup or shipping promptly after payment.
- Complete the purchase — winning bids may not be cancelled for change of mind.
Item condition and disclosures
Lots are sold “as-is, where-is.” Antiques, estate jewelry, and collectibles often show age and wear. Descriptions, condition notes, and photos are provided in good faith, but you are responsible for reviewing them and asking questions before bidding. Refunds are limited to materially misrepresented items as described in our Returns & Refunds policy.
Seller responsibilities
Sellers must describe lots accurately, disclose known flaws, hold clear title to what they list, and deliver the item as described once payment is received. Seller obligations are detailed in our Vendor Terms.
Non-payment and cancellations
If a winning bidder fails to pay, we may cancel the sale, offer the lot to the next bidder, suspend the account, and/or bar future bidding. AuctionBuddha.com may also cancel a lot or an auction, withdraw an item, or correct errors at its discretion — for example, if a listing error, a title problem, or suspected fraud is discovered.
Platform rights
AuctionBuddha.com operates the auction as a venue connecting buyers and sellers. We may set bid increments and standard rules, adjust or reassign a winner before payment when necessary (for example, on disqualification or error), and take reasonable steps to keep auctions fair and lawful.
